Another Fork in the Road
Zach and I have been in between chapters of our life right now. There are many different opportunities that lie ahead of us which all would change the course of our life. And before we can make those decisions we have to wait and see how different things play out and see what God has planned for us. It's a tough spot to be in. We don't know what the future holds for us, and we can't control the results. We just have to wait. Waiting is so hard sometimes. It's also hard when we are trying to make different plans for different circumstances, and we set our heart on certain things only to find out that isn't going to be what we are going to be doing. So we are at the end of the road that we were on before and look at the two different paths that lie in front of us, and we are anxiously waiting for God, our GPS to let us know where to go. I believe the quote that says "patience is a virtue" It is always necessary in life. Things are starting to unfold before us though. Today I got a job at the YMCA, where that takes us, we aren't sure yet...but we will soon find out. God is so good, and has never failed to pull through for Zach and me :)

Purpose
What does it mean to live our lives with purpose, how do we know we are living in the purpose that was made for us? As I am finishing up my AA degree and realizing that there are so many opportunities that lie ahead of me I wonder...what is my purpose. Since I was a little girl, I always thought I would grow up to be a teacher. I never questioned it. I never considered anything else. Does that mean that teaching is my purpose, or have I been closed minded to the big things that God has for me because I chose to close my eyes and heart to them? This morning I finished my application for the University of North Florida, and after I submitted it, I decided to look at the different degrees UNF has to offer. There are many subjects that peaked my interest as I began to research the programs of UNF. I can be anything right now, I can do anything that I want. The problem is...I am not sure what it is that I want to be. I want to feel passion for the occupation that I commit my life to. Right now I am on a track to get a B.A. in English. This degree would equip me to teach at any level that I choose, or to write books, or even to move abroad and teach English as a second language. They all sound appealing. The other thing I must consider is what Zach's purpose is. I don't want my purpose to guide him away from his purpose, just as he would not want his purpose to guide me away from mine. We are one now, and for the rest of our lives we will be living our lives together. So what if Zach is called to move to Africa, and I'm called to Jacksonville. Would that happen? Who's dream should we go after? If we do go to Africa, will it be necessary for me to get a degree in English? When should we have children? There is so much to consider as I begin this next chapter of my life. I don't want any time to be wasted. I am just waiting for God to make everything clear. I love you guys. :)

Expect the Unexpected
Life is full of the unexpected. A father finds out he has terminal cancer. A young women finds out she is pregnant. These things change the course of someones life. It is a whole different plan than what they had all along. We wake up one day only to hear something that will forever change the way we live. But that is what life is all about right? We can't control what happens as much as we would like to think we can. So what do we do when those things happen in our lives? In the past year I have been able to see some of the things that have happened around me that was not part of the "plan." What helps me is I know that God has his hand on everything, and He sees the big picture, when we only know what is going on at that moment, and we don't know the ending result. What we can do though is expect the unexpected, and know that nothing is unexpected to God. He knows what is going to happen before it ever does. And He isn't sitting around wondering how it will work out, or what the purpose of it is.
